and the winner is..

Janet Lawton of Los Angeles guessed 8 of the yarns used in last week’s photo:
Koigu kpm and kpppm, Rowan Kidsilk Haze, Jade Sapphire 8 ply cashmere, Blue Sky Alpaca Silk, Rowan Wool Cotton, Manos Del Uruguay Wool Clasica, and Rowan Pure Life Organic Cotton.

Congratulations, Janet! Let me know which color of the 2-ply cashmere you would like, and happy knitting!

Thank you to everyone who gave it a shot.

So there you have it.

A few weeks ago my niece gave birth to a little baby girl named Mia. I’ve been so busy working that it was hard to find time to knit a gift. But here it is above, the blanket I’m about to send off to her.

I’ve always wanted my very own personalized labels, and now I have some. I found them at Mountain Street Arts, on etsy. There are several styles to choose from. They arrived promptly, and now adorn little Mia’s baby blanket. I love their simplicity.

This week we did another day of photography for my upcoming project. It was  a dull rainy day in a house in Sandringham, Auckland, but we kept out spirits high with lots of laughing.

Here’s my photographer, Helen Bankers, proving what lengths she’s prepared to go to, wrangling yarn in the name of beauty.

and here I am, a couple of weeks ago, trying to look cool, calm and collected, at our photo shoot on a farm at Oratia, just outside Auckland.

More about this project in the months to come…..
