Koigu Premium Merino (KPM);161m/175yds/50g; 1 each of 2409[A] and 1250[B] 

 

NEEDLES

Size 3.0 and 3.25 mm needles

 

NOTIONS

4 stitch markers

 

GAUGE

In stst on larger needles, 26sts=10cm(4”)

 

SIZES

Medium(large)

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Width 19(22) cm

 

RIGHT GLOVE

With smaller needles and A, cast on 48(56) sts. 

Repeat rows 1&2 (below)10 times (20 rows).

Row 1(RS): K1, *p2, K2; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, k1.

Row 2: P1, *k2, p2; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2, p1.** 

Change to larger needles.

Begin stst and place makers as follows:

K4 (6), pm, k17, pm, k3 (5), pm, K2, pm, k22 (26).

Purl 1row.

Work in stst for 10 rows following intarsia chart on 17 marked sts, working from right to left on RS (knit )rows.

Begin thumb increases

*Increase row: K 24(28), slip marker, m1, k2, m1, sm, k to end–50(58) sts

Purl 1 row.

Repeat from * until there are 18(20sts) between thumb markers, ending with a WS row.

Next row: K42 (48), turn,

Cast on 2 sts by the knit cast on method.  Working 20(22) thumb sts, work 1/1 rib for 3 rows. Bind off loosely in rib.

Sew thumb seam.

RS facing, pick up and knit 3 sts from base of thumb at thumb seam, k to end.

Work 7 rows stst, then 4 rows 1/1 rib.

Bind off in rib.

Sew side seam of glove.

 

LEFT GLOVE

Work as for Right Glove to **.

Begin stst and place makers as follows:

K22 (26), pm, k2, pm, k3 (5), pm, k17, pm, k to end.

Beginning with a purl row, work in stst for 11 rows following intarsia chart on 17 marked sts. Note: To reverse intarsia motif, work chart from right to left on the purl (WS) rows.

Begin thumb increases

*Increase row: K 22(26), slip marker, m1, k2, m1, sm, k to end.

Purl 1 row.

Repeat from * until there are 18(20sts) between thumb markers, ending with a WS row.

Next row: K40 (46), turn,

Cast on 2 sts by the knit cast on method.  Working 20(22) thumb sts, work 1/1 rib for 3 rows. Bind off loosely in rib.

Sew thumb seam. Continue as for Right Glove.
